DE-COLL/AGE

Bulletin aktueller Ideen.

Nos. 1-7 (all published, complete). Koeln, Wolf Vostell, June 1962 - 1969. Full run in fine to very fine condition, edited, designed & published by Wolf Vostell. Complete with all inserts, paper wraparound bands (when issued) and Josef Beuys' first multiple "Zwei Fräulein mit leuchtendem Brot' in exceptionally good condition. WITH IMORTANT ADDITION: Dé-Coll/Age No.7, unique adorned copy of the last issue dated 1974. Composed of Dé-Coll/Age No.7, Elektronischer dé-coll/age, Happening Raum. Cologne, Typos Verlag 1969. The publication documents the creation of the ELEKTRONISCHER dé-coll/age HAPPENING RAUM (1959-1968), produced by Vostell at the invitation of the Institute of Modern Art in Nuremberg and exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 1968. The environment was made up of 6 TV sets equipped with auxiliary electro motors that move objects over a glass-strewn floor. Slides showing earlier happenings and works by Vostell were projected on the walls. Vostell made this copy of the book into a delightful artwork. The title page features a handwritten dedication to Inge (most probably Inge Baecker, Vostell's gallerist who initiated her gallery in 1970 with a show by Vostell), 'Für die bewundernswerte Inge mit guten Gerdanken', signed and dated 21.2.1974. Three black cord are taped to the title page by black electrical tape. Attached to the cords are a horn comb (in original plastic container), a BASF sound coil containing the sound of feet stepping on broken glass, and a roll of negatives with photos from Vostell. Added is a transparent plastic box, 19.5 x 19.5 cm, filled with fragmented glass. The plastic box has a crack on the lid, the book shows moderate rubbing on spine and small stains on second page, else in good condition.

EUR 3,500.00

► detailed description

A rare complete collection. The poetry album was a volume of poetry published monthly in the GDR from 1967 to 1990. Founded by Bernd Jentzsch (who had to discontinue because he had protested the "Ausbürgerung" of Wolf Biermann) and then continued by Richard Pietraß from 1977 to 1979 , was published monthly between 1967 and 1990 by Neues Leben Berlin. International poets and young poets from the GDR were presented on 32 pages each. The spectrum ranged from Ovid , Hồ Chí Minh , Edgar Allan Poe and Alexander Puschkin to Bertolt Brecht , Erich Kästner , Stephan Hermlin and Bob Dylan. In addition to a total of 275 regular issues 15 special issues were published. However the last one( for August von Platen from August 1990, in which the then editor Dorothea Oehme announced the end of the series for economic reasons) was no longer delivered. A few copies were saved from a Leipzig landfill where the edition had been dumped. After the fall of the Wall, a booklet was published by BrennGlas-Verlag Assenheim on the initiative of the founder . There were a few restarts. Detailed list of included authors on request.

► detailed description

Edited and created by Walter E.Baumann, influential protagonist of the young scene of the famous art academy Städel School, a respected but rather inaccessible place. It was precisely here that - under the title Shvantz- Baumann published small numbers of an artists’ magazine that he produced on the school’s photocopier. It dealt in essence with art and music in Frankfurt and beyond, but was shocking and revolutionary in content and design. In 1979 he organized the Shvantz Festival under the motto "forget about ART – here is SHVANTZ!…" and brought the Düsseldorf bands Der Plan and Mittagspause to a concert in the auditorium of the Academy of Arts. The festival attracted a good deal of attention even in the boring daily press and is today looked upon as a kind of initial spark: one year later Baumann again organized a concert, this time with the British noise and industrial music pioneers Throbbing Gristle, whose performance became legendary. - No. 4: Sept.1979.Art Attack,Gerhard Naschberger, Michael Badura, Pola Reuth, D.Albrecht, Horst Turner (original work on transparent paper),, W.E..Baumann, Ralphn Neun, Milan Kunc, U.Maier.
