Complete set in fine condition of this magnificently produced monthly, edited by Fleur Cowles, with colour-ads, inserts, and beautiful coloured wrappers, several of which (as a special trade-mark of the publication) have a see-through punch hole as part of the design. Flair was a magazine of Art, Fashion, Literature, Entertainment, Decor and Travel, with innovative lay-outs and designs. Issues of 130 pages on glossy paper, full of photographs and illustrations, and with contribs. byJean Cocteau, W.H. Auden, Tennessee Williams, Salvador Dali (The Gypsy Angels of Spain), François Mauriac, Jean Genet, Colette, Jules Supervielle, Simone de Beauvoir, Helene Walker, John O'Hara, Robert Ruark, and many others; special issues on Paris, New York, London, the 'All Male'-issue College Review Issue, etc. This fine magazine, very typical for the early fifties and epoch making in journalism, had to give up publication after twelve issues. The Flair Annual was an attempt to revive this splendid production.
