Complete set of File Magazine. 27 issues (including a variant, all published) published by General Idea, edited and designed by AA Bronson, Jorge Zontal and Felix Partz. First published in the year that LIFE-Magazine had to cease publication, FILE adopted the lay-out of the front cover, size and style. Issues are mostly around a theme: Women's Issue, Paris Issue, Mondo Nudo, NYC Issue, Punk Issue, People Issue, Artists Directory, Image Bank Issue, People Issue, Transgression Issue, Global Downtown, Foreign Agents, The Re-Materialization of the Art Abject, X Ray Sex, Mondo Cane, Kama Sutra, etc. File 6 no. 1/2 is a retrospective number on General Idea and File, 1968-1984. Contribs. include: William Burroughs, Andy Warhol, David Byrne, Robert Cumming, Salvador Dalí, etc.- Vol. 3 no 1 Glamour Issue, With the VARIANT Black and white. Wrappers. Staple bound. approximately 200 variants, of which this is one, with the High Profile logo screen printed on the cover. Very good condition. Also: Vol. 2 no. 5 and Vol. 5 no. 1complete with the Flex-disks; Vol. 5 no. 2 complete with insert Bartolini. Vol. 1, No. 1. April 15, 1972. "Mr. Peanut Issue." is only in fair condition, fragile due to paper quality. Wear and tearing to wrappers (Four 0.5" tears along fore edge, two tears repaired by tape; bottom right corner torn off; several 1" tears to back cover along spine and to back cover fore edge. Single 1.25" tear to pages at fore edge). This first number is however excessively rare. All others are in very good to near mint condition. A remarkable set of great rarity so complete.
