NIEUWE JOURNALISTIEK. STEINLENS 2E PROCEDURE. AMSTERDAM, S2P, CA. 1973
Amsterdam, S2P, ca. 1973. Softcover, 30 x 21.5 cm, 62 pp. Black clip bound, cover printed black on red paper. Mysterious Dutch publication made by S2P (unspecified person/group). Edition unknown.
The colophon mentions a loose assembly of artists, writers and gallerists who may or may not have been involved such as Gerard Brands, Jan Juffermans, Willem de Ridder, Rudi Fuchs, Bram Volkers, Fanny Kelk, Jaco Groot, Wies Smals, Adriaan van Ravesteyn, Riekje Swart and others. Features reproductions of found newspaper texts from July 1971 to 1973, mixed in with some commentary, towards the end of the publication blurry b/w images are added. The book is inspired by ‘Steinlens 2e procedure’, a mail art project by an unknown (Belgian?) artist. The publication was distributed for free at several Amsterdam based galleries such as Art & Project, Asselijn and Printshop, or could be ordered for 10 guilders directly from the unspecified ‘S2P’. Very good copy. Quite rare.
